At what point in our timeline do we finalize identity? What happens when that landscape changes, and personal terrain becomes unfamiliar? Labels and opinions can accumulate like burrs on corduroy pants: prickly and hard to shake off. In a world determined to sort, peg, rank and categorize, are we losing the luxury of changing our minds? This brand new play explores thoughts on the impermanence of self, the double-edged sword of certainty, and who we were, are, and who might just emerge.
“Val is a very exciting writer who is able to tackle complex issues with wit, humour, and passion… Her work is brave and unique.” – Trevor Rueger, Alberta Playwrights’ Network
“We must avidly initiate the work of the present. Why? Because the moment we are living has not been written. And it will only ever be witnessed by us.” – Steven Dietz, American Theatre
